I don’t know if this is a new thing being done or i just never knew about it. But while playing with the XF sportbrake configurator i found it, this glorious option.
Heated washer jets?! Like it heats my washer fluid?! I need this! As Northerner I can not stress how amazing this would be! now if only I had $81,275 as optioned to buy my new XF Sportbrake S as optioned by me...
update: ok so it’s not new, just new to me..

Just wait for the inevitable 60% depreciation

They’ve been out since forever. Some heat the tank but most nowadays have heated sprayers.

It’s been an option for a long time. I configure Jags a few times a week and I think it’s been around since at least 2014/15.
Never mind the heated jet, a heated windshield sounds like the business. It’s about time that technology loved to the fron of the car.

It’s a feature that’s been around. Buick Lucerne had it in about 2006
Still, it’s a cool feature.

the windshield isn;t that impressive, Subaru been doing that with their winterpackage for years. I didn’t know about the jets though. that’s still blowing my mind. WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME ABOUT THEM!!

I feel like this might have been a thing Mercedes started first.
My Jag avoids the fluid issue by mounting the jet on the wiper blade.

Too bad they didn’t have these when I lived in snow country.

GM had a recall on their heated washer fluid bottles a while back.. something something methanol fires..... heating just the nozzles seems like a novel approach.

Jag I think has always offered heated front windshields I think. I member driving and old XJ6 with a front windshield that had all the same defrost lines as the rear lol. It was a bit odd to look through at first

Why spend $81,275 on a car equipped with heater washers when you could have one installed for $81,210.13 less?

I wonder if it does anything about melting the ice which builds up in front of the jets and blocks the fluid?

I hear they are actually pretty terrible, since small chips and cracks tend to get bigger when the temp changes too quickly.

My 11 YO, $20k (when new) has these as part of the cold weather package. They definitely helped when I lived in IL.

My e39 has heated windshield washer fluid which surprisingly works well. That was 20 years ago. The heated windshield is newer though but can’t imagine it’s too far from heated rear.
